Jacques Derrida

He was born on July 15, 1930 in El Biar, Algeria and died on October 8, 2004 at 74 years old in Paris, France. Both his parents were Sephardic Jews and educated in the French tradition. In 1949, Derrida went to France and studied at the elite École Normale Supérieure. He also taught philosophy in various schools in Paris. In the 1960s Jacque published many books and essays while also, teaching and lecturing in universities all over the world, like Yale University and the University of California. He is most known for his examination of the literary criticism, deconstructionism.
